Harbor Island Beer Festival 2016!

Hello folks!

Yesterday was the incredible Harbor Island Beer Festival, where I was able to set up shop thanks to the fine folks at Half Time Beverage! It was a spectacular show, and marked my return to the festival / convention scene! All of the folks who stopped by the booth were very nice folks, and I had a blast meeting so many of them.

Now that the show is over, I will be fixing our store page, which is not up at the moment. I will get an inventory posted so folks can see what I have in stock. I can do custom orders as well, though I do need to resupply everything I put into the festival yesterday!

My thanks go to everyone who stopped by, and again to the wonderful people who ran the festival.

Welcome back!

Hello all,

I realize that I have not updated here in a long time. After giving some beverage candles to some folks as a thank you, I've been making more of them again, and I have improved upon my process as well.

For those of you who may be first time visitors, I make artistic candles and candles which resemble popular beverages and even food (if you consider gelatin dessert food, as I do). These are gel candles, which burn much longer than regular candles. I started making these as gifts for friends, but now I travel to conventions at times and have done commissions for folks across the country.

Here are a few of the recent beverage candles I've worked on:

Light, Red and Brown

This photo was taken just before the final step- trimming the wick. Each style has a different scent. The light one has french vanilla, the red has cinnamon and the brown has a lovely "woodsy floral" scent.

And here are a few highlights from the past:

May I interest you in a glass of wine?

I'm going to be doing some more batches of beverage candles in the near future, and a few with embedded sculpture.

As always, if anyone has anything they would like me to craft, I love new ideas and commissions.

Thank you very much for stopping by!

NYCC 2012 the Return

Hello folks,

I have returned from New York Comic Con 2012, and it was a crazy weekend. The floor was packed wall to wall with attendees and exhibitors. It was a miracle we made it out of there unscathed.

It was a good time and there were a great many awesome people to meet and hang out with, both among attendees and fellow exhibitors and artists alike.

The website here, as I'm sure you can tell, is rather... stale.

I am looking to get it into a better gallery format and to improve the store, as well as get the candles themselves on there.

In the meantime, here are a few photos of what I've been working on.

Have a good day,

John

Back to New York Comic Con

Hello folks,

I'm heading back to New York Comic Con Thursday, October 11 through Sunday, October 14th. Hopefully, soon after the convention I'll have this site in better shape.

It's a tad late, so I must away.

Good night,

John

The Return From TooManyGames 2012

Hello all,

I returned from TooManyGames on Sunday, and it was a great deal of fun. I met a lot of good people, and many of them even bought candles. It was fun, and I look to return next year as well. Everyone at that convention is pretty darn nice.

Now I'm looking to the future, where I will attend Otakon and participate in the Artist's Alley Auction if I'm lucky. And if I'm even luckier, I will attend New York Comic-Con again and sell in their Artist's Alley.

I'm still a little beat from the mad production rush before the convention, and the drive home, so I'm going to keep this a little bit short.

I just want to thank everyone out there for their support.

The Return

Hello all,

I have survived my trip to PAX East this year, and it was a great deal of fun. I got some good pictures and interviews, and I am ecstatic that I was able to go. I'm looking forward to getting a table at some conventions this summer or fall, and I will update here when that happens.

To everyone who received a card from me, thank you for stopping by!

John

PS: I am looking into getting an LLC. Once that is set up, you can expect to see my candles for sale on here as well.

Hello again,

Unfortunately, we are having a problem handling international orders, so we're going to take the store down until we can get that resolved.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

The Return from Magfest 2012

Hello all, greetings from the end of Magfest 2012.

I had a lot of fun meeting people, and showing off some of the work I've done recently. I am thinking of doing more conventions in the future, this year; being at Magfest was a bit of a last minute fluke, truth be told. I am preparing some new ideas and some old favorites to get ready for the next big convention push.

To those of you I met, or who purchased candles, it was a pleasure meeting you, and thank you very much. It means a lot to me that you liked my art. For those of you who could not make it, please feel free to send me an e-mail with any requests or commissions you may have. If you see something that you would like, or have an idea of your own, please let me know and I can see about getting it done for you. Please send me an e-mail at: E-mail address.

There were a few pieces that I've made lately that I have not posted here, including a commission of a waterfall that I did for a fine fellow from Texas. The camera had some trouble seeing around the bubbles, but it was rather large, and easy to see in person.

As I get some new creations done, I will post them here. I am also looking to finish setting up the store this week.
